Our client is a dynamic and rapidly expanding container liner business with a strong presence globally. We are seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst (Shipping) to join our client's team in Singapore.
As a Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing market trends, financial data, and operational metrics to provide strategic insights and recommendations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for the business.
- Conduct periodic data quality assessments to ensure the accuracy, completeness and reliability of Operational Cost and Revenue reported.
- Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and reports to support decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to gather requirements, understand business objectives, initiate corrective measures on the deviations identified and define project scopes.
- Perform market research and competitive analysis to benchmark performance and identify industry best practices.
- Prepare presentations and reports for senior management, summarizing findings, insights, and recommendations.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to track business performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Support the implementation of new initiatives and business strategies through data-driven insights and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Maritime, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar role within the logistics, shipping, or maritime industry.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and database management.
- Knowledge of maritime logistics and shipping operations.
