Job Description
We are looking for a research officer to apply biomolecular modelling methods, including homology modelling and molecular dynamics, to understand the molecular mechanisms of coding variants that are associated with type 2 diabetes. Where applicable, structures of protein–ligand, protein–protein, protein–nucleic acid complexes will be modelled to determine the effect of the mutation on these interactions. The successful candidate will also have opportunities to work on collaborative projects with experimental groups to develop therapeutics and understand biochemical mechanisms.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor"s degree in life sciences, chemistry, computational biology, or a related discipline
- Passion for science and research
- Strong knowledge of structural biology
- Keen interest in programming. Prior experience is preferred, but not required.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Highly motivated
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
