Job Description:

Vanderlande understands the complexities associated with a successful airport and parcel operation and delivers future-proof logistic process automation. These automation systems are composed of many Electromechanical, IT, and controls components that require expert knowledge to support.
As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, your expertise lies in virtual machines, Linux, and Windows operating systems, along with the hardware infrastructure supporting them. Your role involves analyzing and supporting a range of IT software, hardware, and networks. You'll play a key part in identifying and resolving system issues, researching solutions, and recommending system improvements. Expect regular interaction with customers, internal teams, and external suppliers as you collaborate to ensure smooth IT operations and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify problems and perform root cause analysis of IT and upper-level control software of the Vanderlande baggage handling system, in close collaboration with other teams.
- Review system and application logs to trace issues and gather information for analysis.
- Develop and maintain customer-specific validation test processes and reports for the change control log.
- Continuously monitor IT infrastructure, application, and material handling application environment.
- Triage all events reported and maintain incident reports.
- Plan and deliver preventive maintenance tasks & assigned change tasks (back-ups, patch execution, etc.).
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, demonstrating strong communication skills and taking ownership.
- Analyze problems by asking the right questions, listening to the customer, and translating findings into technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot problems systematically, whether top-down or bottom-up.
- Advise customers on actions to minimize equipment downtime, thinking in terms of cause-effect.
- Take proactive measures based on own insight, lifecycle plans, or preventive maintenance plans.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information and Computer Technology, Networking, IT Security from an accredited university.
- Preferably, a good understanding of IT service management practices (ITIL v3/v4).
- Affinity with IT and Industrial Automation, and an interest in logistic processes.
- 5 + years of relevant working experience in industrial systems.
- Hands-on experience with Linux and network communications is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with server hardware and operating systems such as VMware virtualization, Linux, and MS Windows.
- Hands-on experience with network hardware and configuration for firewalls, switches, and routing.
- Experience with designing and implementing IT security-related software such as Trend Micro, McAfee, SIEM, vulnerability scanning, and system hardening.
- Solid understanding of Oracle SQL and JAVA software development is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of testing methodologies and troubleshooting techniques.
- Good communication skills in English.

- Willingness to work in a 24/7 operational environment and be on-call as required.
