Employee Relations Manager

Position Description

The Employee Relations (ER) team manages employment risk for our company by providing consultative expertise, processes and controls to help employees and managers prevent, manage and resolve workplace issues.


Scope of Role

APAC Region – supporting Tech & Ops LOBs


Key Responsibilities

  • Provides specialist advice, guidance and support to HR generalists and Line of Business (LOB) management on people risk matters for Global Technology and Operations
  • Provides end to end case management support on broad spectrum of ER and conduct related issues
  • Leads and/or partners with other control functions to carry out/support investigations for misconduct cases and ensures robust/accurate ER records are maintained
  • Upholds the Bank’s risk management framework by ensuring that risks are identified, debated, escalated and managed as appropriate
  • Drives and delivers selective ER related projects
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships with HR stakeholders and key control partners
  • Identifies and develops opportunities for proactive and preventative initiatives to mitigate employee risk
  • Enables advanced HR capability through provision of appropriate training, coaching, guidance and advice to GHR teammates
  • Supports the Global ER agenda – takes active role in enabling the strategic objectives to crystallize within Asia Pacific Region


Deliverables

  • Provision of fit for purpose specialist advice and support to the regional HR and LOB leadership teams so that potential employment risks can be identified and mitigated as appropriate
  • Effective management and closure of portfolio for ER cases and employee issues
  • Delivery of projects, change programs and organizational initiatives in line with specific measures of success


Key Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years’ HR experience, with robust understanding of HR operating model
  • A solid working understanding of employment policy frameworks; best practice; regulatory (employment) requirements
  • Underlying understanding of APAC location employment law frameworks
  • Solid understanding of employment law and/or company employment policy frameworks (specific country knowledge not necessary)
  • Prior involvement in managing complex ER related issues
  • Proven success in managing multiple relationships with executive stakeholders in LOB/HR/control functions
  • Leading HR related projects and change initiatives
  • Ability to challenge, influence and build collaborative relationships across business and geographical boundaries
  • Flexibility and change orientation
  • Ability to cope with a wide range of conflicting priorities in a demanding and fast moving environment
