Lead Network Engineer
Budget: Up to $8,300 Base
Position Summary
We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to develop and maintain functional and secure networks. You will mentor and lead a small team of Network engineers to troubleshoot and optimize our networks for supporting various products and services of our client. In this role, you should have excellent problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of network administration and architecture. Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, implement, and support LAN/WAN infrastructure (MPLS, ISP, and ISDN).
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to analyze network infrastructure requirements, including VOIP, desktop, and video connectivity, and design effective network solutions.
- Develop, implement, and test security measures, such as access authentication and disaster recovery.
- Configure systems in compliance with organizational change management policies and procedures.
- Design network-related proof of concepts and configurations for implementation by Application Support teams.
- Monitor and track the refresh of End-of-Life network hardware and software solutions and platforms.
- Participate in a rotational 24/7 standby roster to handle support issues within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant technology disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Network Engineering role within a medium to large-sized organization.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification preferred.
- Profound understanding of communication protocols (especially TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).
- Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds).
- Strong expertise in VOIP, BGP, IPSEC, and EIGRP.
- Familiarity with Cisco routers and switches (Nexus and Catalyst), Checkpoint, Palo Alto, McAfee, and Fortinet firewalls.
- In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, including network and server system monitoring, change, and configuration management.
- Prior experience in implementing large-scale network solutions within the payments industry would be advantageous.
