MRTA is about understanding and maintaining our equipment as effectively and efficiently as possible, making sure it performs as intended. The Turnaround discipline covers the development of Turnaround strategies and the planning, coordinating and execution of Turnaround events (including the financial and people aspects and scheduling).
What’s the role?
This is a 12-month contract role.
Your principal accountabilities as a Construction Engineer will include:
- Leads and execute construction activities within Shell Jurong Island (SJI) for Turnaround Event 2025 especially C-10402 partial replacement works including associated works assigned by the event manager and block lead to achieve sustainable, top quartile (TQ) delivery in HSSE, quality, cost, and schedule.
- Turnaround planning, preparation, materials take off and procurement, field execution of the given tasks and activities including active participation in required studies (e.g., Risk identification and Management, 3D design reviews, Constructability studies, etc) to drive safe and flawless turnaround execution.
- Identifies and manages interfaces through regular engagement with stakeholders, including external non-Shell entities. (e.g. EPC contractors, consultants, execution contractors, government regulatory agencies and etc). Manage differing priorities from them to deliver the best possible outcomes for the site.
- Jointly develop execution plans (including HSSE & quality) in partnership with internal Shell stakeholders (e.g. Turnaround, Projects, Engineering Disciplines, Operations, Maintenance). Identifies and manages risk from simultaneous operations or activities. Proposes practical alternatives to stakeholders for consideration. Implements mitigation plans.
- Collaborate with external/internal stakeholders for planning and scheduling. Develop and sustain ways of working, including progress measurement, forecasting and control.
- Ensures all construction activities comply with regulatory and company HSSE standards and requirements.
- Demonstrate and role model positive Leadership attributes; personal integrity and authenticity, inspire & aspire, collaborative, commercial mindset and deliver extraordinary business outcomes.
- Develops and deploy suitable digitalization tools to drive collaboration and better decision making. (e.g., through use of “live” data and analytics, digital construction checklist, Smart Torque system)
- Qualified Authorized Applicant (AA) and/or Engineer (AE) for works within Shell Permit to work system.
- Perform construction work activities to support urgent works outside office hours.
- Contribute to business improvement through ideation, development, and implementation of improvement initiatives.
- Contributes to contractor partnership journey through regular and effective engagement with contractor partner management and working teams.
- Carry out any other related duties as required, including temporary assignments in other sections within the MTAC department on site.
