JOB DESCRIPTION
- Responsible for directing the management of Japan Airlines 10 branches
and 15 offices in Asia Oceania region on implementation of strategies and
operational policies to improve profitability and achieve the profit plan of
each division; sales, airport, cargo and cabin. This position is also expected
to be responsible for assisting the opening and closing new routes, as well
as establishment or closing of branch or office within the APAC region.
- Oversee and direct the human resources and administration of all the
branches and sales offices in APAC region. This position is ultimately
responsible for the human resources and administration of over 1,000
employees in the region, including expatriates and local employees, and
exercise wide latitude in decision-making of the implementation of group-
wide human resources strategies and operational policies in all branches
and offices.
- Supervising the implementation of employee training in the APAC region,
in areas such as the company's philosophy, management accounting,
internal safety and compliance, and information management.
- Closely communicate with the representatives of each branch or sales
office of any serious issues related to human resources (including union
support), administration or operation of aircraft and airports in the Asia-
Oceania region, and take the lead in resolving them. Under the recent
unstable situation, any mishap in the operation at airport and aircraft may
have a great impact on human lives and public health, and therefore, we
need a candidate who can make prompt and accurate decision backed by
abundant experience.
- Closely communicate and report to the management of the Japan
headquarters on the status of organizational operation and HR & admin
operation at all 10 branches and 15 offices in the Asia-Oceania region.
Optimize and take lead of organizational and HR & admin operations in
the Asia-Oceania region based on the situation and good practices in
other regions of the world, as well as advise from headquarters in Japan.
- Based on hands-on and comprehensive knowledge of Japanese
Accounting standard, oversee the financial and accounting reporting of
each branch and sales office in Asia and Oceania region to Tokyo HQ. This
position is also expected to oversee compliance with internal controls in
each branch and sales office in Asia and Oceania region in accordance
with J-SOX.
- In collaboration with the Head Office Risk Management Department in
Japan, build relationships with security authorities, diplomatic missions,
companies, and local communities in the APAC region as well as collect
and analyze regional security information (aviation and social).
- Responsible for taking the ultimate lead of emergency response in branch
and sales office of Asia and Oceania region in the event of an serious air
accident or other emergency situation. This position is expected to
provide direction to each office in cooperation with the Japan
headquarters at any time of the year/day in the event of such an
emergency in order to ensure the safety of passengers as the top priority.
- This position is also required to provide directions to hande other serious
irregular issues that may occur in all the airports over Asia and Oceania
region that Japan Airlines covers, including midnight, early morning,
weekends and holidays.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- At least 20 years of working experience in HR and administration
department in aviation industry with profound knowledge and
understanding of the industry.
- At least 10 years of experience of engaging as Senior Manager in HR and
administration department of a company with more than 1,000
employees.
- At least 3 years of experience as a senior manager or above in a overseas
branch office in a company operating globally.
- At least 3 years of experiences in handling accounting and finance based
on Japanese accounting standard. This position also requires practical
knowledge on J-SOX.
- Japanese communication skill of JPLT N1 or eqivalent is required for this
post, for accurate and prompt communication and direction to the
relevant departments at the Tokyo head office, in the event of an
emergency.
- Extensive knowledge of international and Japanese regulations of aviation
industry.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other software.
