The Nanyang Technological University School of Materials Science and Engineering (NTU MSE) is looking for a highly motivated candidate to join us as Research Assistant.
Key Responsibilities:
- The candidate is expected to play the main role in the project with an industry partner in developing new materials for electronics packaging. This may involve the use of nano-materials in solder or die attach or thermal interface material applications. The job will also involve various fabrication processes such as bonding, sintering, etc. The staff will also carry out different materials characterization techniques such as DSC, DGA, TMA, XRD, SEM, EDS.
- The job will also involve mechanical and electrical properties characterizations, such as electrical resistivity measurements and mechanical testing. Reliability testing such as thermal aging or thermal cycling may be carried out as well. Lastly, failure analysis would be done to determine the failure mode and mechanisms.
- Liaise with industry partner on the project requirements.
- Fulfill the technical requirements of the project.
- Take care of the equipment that is used for the project.
- Write technical reports and prepare presentations needed for the project.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in the materials engineering with at least Honours (Distinction).
- Knowledge in microelectronics materials and packaging technologies such as die attach, soldering, thermal interface materials.
- Knowledge in reliability studies such as accelerated testing, failure analysis will be an advantage.
- Good command in written & oral English.
- Good working attitude and team player.
