Job Description:
We are seeking a talented Content Writer and Social Media Specialist to join the Marketing & Communications team.
The ideal candidate is a creative thinker, excellent writer, and adept researcher who can develop engaging content across various platforms. You will work closely with colleagues in the Marketing & Communications team and Programming & Producing teams to create compelling content that resonates with our target audience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Research & Ideation
- Conduct research to generate ideas and conceptualise creative content for various target audiences across platforms, including social media, video, and e-mailers, to achieve communications, marketing, and festival / programme objectives.
- Develop good knowledge of organisation / festival / programme brand knowledge, positioning and tone of voice.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in content writing and digital marketing to enhance the editorial calendar.
Content Creation and Editing
- Write clear, concise, and engaging content for our website, social media, e-mailers and other marketing channels.
- Identify, curate and develop content from festivals and programme assets.
- Creating an editorial calendar for timely and strategic content ideas throughout the year.
- Conduct interviews, attend rehearsals, etc., for content generation.
- Craft stories that resonate with various target audiences and encourage engagement.
- Distil complex concepts into easily understood content.
- Create and schedule posts for multiple social media channels.
- Edit and proofread content for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and adherence to the festival / programme brand style and tone of voice.
Monitoring and Management
- Manage content distribution to online channels and social media platforms to increase web traffic.
- Keep up to date with industry best practices and monitor content activities of other arts centres and festivals websites.
- Monitor and analyse online statistics, including social ad web traffic, user demographics, and content performance, to inform content strategy.
- Manage and complete multiple content writing projects on time.
Collaboration & Strategy
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications and Programming & Producing teams to develop content strategies supporting marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment and consistency in messaging, branding, and style across social media and digital platforms.
- Develop content distribution and promotion efforts to increase brand visibility and drive traffic across social media and digital platforms.
- Strategize content creation and distribution for respective social media platforms based on target audience.
Requirements:
Education
- Degree in English, Marketing, Communication, Journalism or a related field
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in arts/events related industry such as events marketing, arts marketing, digital marketing and social media
- General knowledge of the arts is important
- Proven experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter, Social Media Manager/ Specialist or similar role
- Strong writing and editing skills to produce high-quality content
- Familiarity with various writing styles and media types
- Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and other digital tools

- Excellent research skills and the ability to gather, analyse and present information effectively
- Highly articulate and versatile writer with excellent editorial skills; solid command of English with the ability to create compelling headlines that capture attention
- Good knowledge of respective social media platforms, their uses and functions and target audience
