SMTP Proxy Developer
We are seeking a skilled and experienced SMTP Proxy Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network programming, email systems, and security. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining an SMTP proxy server to filter email traffic based on predefined rules and policies. This role involves close collaboration with network engineers, security analysts, and other developers to ensure the efficient and secure processing of email communications.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop and Maintain SMTP Proxy:Design and implement an SMTP proxy server to intercept and process email traffic.
Develop filtering rules to block or modify email messages based on sender, recipient, subject, content, and attachments.
- Network Programming:Utilize socket programming and asynchronous I/O operations to handle multiple connections concurrently.
Ensure reliable and efficient data transmission between email clients and destination mail servers.
- Email Systems Integration:Integrate the SMTP proxy with existing email systems and infrastructure.
Work with popular SMTP servers like Postfix, Exim, and Sendmail for seamless interaction.
- Security Implementation:Implement security measures to protect against common email threats, including encryption (TLS/SSL) and authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
Ensure compliance with data privacy laws and regulations, such as GDPR.
- Performance Optimization:Optimize the SMTP proxy for handling high volumes of email traffic with minimal latency.
Monitor system performance and make necessary adjustments to improve efficiency.
- Debugging and Testing:Conduct thorough testing of the SMTP proxy to ensure robustness and reliability.
Debug and resolve issues related to email filtering and network communication.
- Documentation and Logging:Maintain comprehensive documentation of the SMTP proxy's architecture, configuration, and filtering rules.
Implement logging mechanisms to track email transactions and filtering actions.
