Momentum Works is looking for one (1) research analyst to join our ass-kicking Insights team which has been producing and publishing unique and outstanding reports that answer the (literally) billion dollar questions for investors and key business decision makers.
(e.g. What is the future for Indonesia ecommerce; How to transform Alibaba; Does Shopee have a moat against TikTok Shop; The Coffee market in Southeast Asia; Who is J&T).

About the Research analyst role:
Insights in tech and the new economy across emerging markets is a key business unit of Momentum Works. We put things in perspective using our unique primary sources - our community.
You will be working directly with our Head of Insights and the management team to research industry and company specific topics related to tech, ecommerce and ecosystem, new retail as well as transformation.
As structured information for Southeast Asia and other emerging markets is scarce and quite often unreliable, you will need to be resourceful. A unique advantage you will have here is Momentum Works' core resources (knowledge, experience and community), from which you can connect the dots and uncover real insights.
Successful applicant will be expected to do the following:
- Conduct research from Momentum Works’ primary data sources (e.g. community of business leaders, experienced executives, investors etc.) as well as secondary sources (e.g. financial reports);
- Analyze and synthesize data gathered from various sources, and build powerful visuals and narratives (data visualisation skills is a plus);
- Participate in our other venture, investment and consulting projects to gain real understanding, which you will translate into insights;
- Join discussions with senior leaders and clients on insights and perspectives;
