Job Summary
As a Mechatronics Engineer, you will take part in the end-to-end process of designing, manufacturing, assembling, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning of an autonomous robot. Reporting to the Product Lead, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional project team members to deliver a cutting-edge solution aimed at revolutionizing manual operations using robotics technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and design the robot based on pre-identified requirements.
- Prepare engineering drawings and communicate with machinists for parts machining.
- Identify suitable OEM parts based on robot requirements and product specifications.
- Assemble the robot, conduct basic functional testing, and troubleshoot errors.
- Facilitate on-site testing and trials, ensuring optimal performance.
- Document robot engineering drawings, e-plan, and SOPs.
- Conduct training and knowledge transfer sessions for robot end-users.
- Manage procurement procedures for parts purchasing.
Requirements
- Master/Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics Engineering/Computer Science/equivalent.
- Proficiency in 3D design tools (e.g. Solidworks), FEA tools, and schematic drawing tools (e.g. AutoCAD).
- Experience in Linux OS, C/C++, and Python. Preferably experienced in Robot Operating System (ROS).
- Familiar with robotics perception, LiDAR, object tracking, motion planning, machine learning, sensor fusion, and system engineering.
- Experience in mechanical/electrical/system assembly and troubleshooting.
- Proficient in handling and interfacing PLCs, industrial PCs, and various devices (motors, flowmeters, pumps, heaters).
- Strong team player with effective communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
- Willingness to travel and work on-site.
