We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Demurrage Analyst to join our dynamic team at an oil giant. The Demurrage Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and managing demurrage-related activities associated with the company's oil trading operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of demurrage concepts, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with ship owners for claims, maintain a pro-active approach and endeavor to maximize the savings by countering intelligently.
- Prepare and negotiate with external customers for all demurrage claims. The aim is to maximize recoveries and minimize profit leakage from the business.
- Work closely with trading and other teams in monitoring demurrage payables and receivables.
- Follow internal procedures to receive approval for payments and escalate to Demurrage Manager when needed in a timely manner.
- Gather information for formulation/development of KPI’s relating to the demurrage and claims function to ensure that commitments are met.
- Responsible for resolving disputes with counterparties.
- Provide reports on claims records to the management.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain with 4 years experience in claims and demurrage
- Working experience with the Oil & Gas trading industry is preferred
- Exposure to contract interpretation and strong negotiation skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to multi-task and meet tight schedules.
- Meticulous and able to work independently as well as in a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
