Job Overview:

To coordinate and drive the CFS' transformation efforts based on refreshed Mission and Vision, working in close partnership with the CEO and Chief of Staff.

Key Responsibilities & Duties include:

Strategic Planning:

  • Lead the department's work with Board and Senior Management to drive the development of CFS' strategic and long-term goals in alignment with its vision, mission and values, and within its dynamic operating environment
  • Point of contact with key stakeholder, MCCY, for the setting of annual deliverables and long-term outcomes
  • Work with the heads of various departments on annual workplans and transformation projects to ensure alignment of efforts
  • Evaluate strategies and activities to measure achievement of outcomes and goals
  • Analyse business structures, management practices, organisation culture, system policies and procedures and utilization of resources in line with vision, mission and values
  • Manage CFS' annual strategic or corporate planning exercise
  • Advise departments in their development of annual workplans and programme implementation

Corporate Secretariat & Governance:

  • Oversee the secretariat work processes for and communication to Board of Directors, and sub-committees.
  • Oversee secretariat services required for Board and Senior Management Meetings e.g. calling for agenda, minute-taking, follow-ups etc.

Managerial Functions

  • Oversee the team, providing leadership to solve operational, resource allocation, work processes and talent development challenges
  • Ensure timely submissions of required reports to stakeholders for purposes of meeting funding requirements
  • Prepare management reports of department to Board of Directors where required
  • Work with finance team to budget and draft funding requirements for delivery of organizational strategies and long-term outcomes
  • Supervise office administration

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications with 5 years of experience and successful track record in a planning role, with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Possesses strong analytical and systems thinking ability, recognizes patterns and frames issues clearly
  • Emotionally and socially intelligent; able to work with ambiguity, and across different stakeholder groups
  • Strong planning, organizational and project management skills ability to oversee multiple projects
  • Resourceful, self-starter; resilient, with skills of persuasion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with the non-profit sector or philanthropy will be an asset.
