Job Description
This project aims to model the corrosion induced damage process in reinforced concrete. A multi-physics model is envisioned, to capture the ingress of chloride ions, the stress loading on concrete material due to the formation of corrosion products, and the resultant damage in concrete.
The candidate is expected to perform the following tasks:
• Develop and implement a multi-physics FE numerical model for concrete on the diffusion of chloride ions;
• Develop and implement a FE damage model for concrete to capture the development of cracks in reinforced concrete;
Job Requirements
• Possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with demonstrated experience in the following topics:
• Meso-scale generation and meshing of FE unit cells for concrete.
• Phase-field / nonlocal / gradient damage models for concrete.
• Good written and spoken communications and able to present results clearly.
• Open to fixed-term contract.
