The SDLC, Runtime & SecDb (SDLCRSEC) team builds and manages the firm’s mission critical platforms for job scheduling, compute-as-a-service, file transfer, the firmwide software development lifecycle (e.g., software distribution, automated testing, CI/CD), and the firm’s pricing and risk management calculations. These platforms empower the firm’s expansive set of global developers to deliver services, products, and platforms for internal and external customers.

  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is a suite of products that provides build and deploy tooling for Engineers in the firm. It provides a modern, secure and highly available plant that facilitates source control, code review, build, test and production activation.
  • Distributed Scheduling (Runtime) offers scalable, highly available and efficient platforms and services for job scheduling, grid computing, Compute-as-a-Service, file transfer and software distribution across the firm.
  • SecDb is the firm's proprietary platform for storing, pricing, and analyzing financial instruments to enable businesses to perform risk management, valuations, and trade lifecycle management activities

We are continuing our journey focusing on applying a product mentality to the way we build our products and ensure that we focus on our clients and their needs to build the right product at the right time. This role will be responsible for working with software engineers to guide the design, development and operation of mission critical products.

A successful product management candidate will bring a passion for technology services and the developers who use them, strong business acumen and judgment, ability to define and evolve products, desire to have a firm wide impact on our developer experience, and ability to work within a fast-moving environment in a large company to rapidly deliver services that have a broad business impact.

Key Job Responsibilities

Lead Product Definition – Own and drive the customer working backwards strategy, tenets, long-term goals and working backwards documents (press release, FAQ) including customer feedback, competitive analysis and business metrics to inform direction. E.g., evaluate new use-cases for distributed scheduling, new continuous deployment product

Define Product Roadmap – Including all aspects to future roadmap, investment, innovation, and experimentation.
Execution of Product Planning and Development – Including customer goals and business requirements for product release, ensuring implementation is aligned with product goals and requirements, and ownership of product positioning.
Lead Product Launch – Lead GTM delivery, ensuring the customer and business goals are met in operational launch plans.
Lead Operations – Including monitoring and response to customer feedback, continuous improvement and adoption.
Lead interaction with Technical Team – Including helping the technical team make tradeoffs based on customer requirements, QA/testing of the product.
Influence senior leaders across the firm for the product’s vision, strategy, goals, status, and customer impact

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Min. 7 years of previous work experience as a Product Manager, preferably in a technical product management role.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with design and engineering peers to lead a product development team
  • Comfortable with Agile processes, with an emphasis on creating backlogs that support the product roadmap
  • Proven ability to influence and/or lead a cross-functional team without direct authority
  • Ability to translate customer needs into a product roadmap
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex problems and roadmaps to stakeholders
  • Ability to define a value driven business case for new products and KPIs to track success of new product.
  • Ability to engage with and influence stakeholders outside their direct control
  • Proven ability to lead by example, with a positive attitude
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to set goals, meet deadlines, and effectively communicate progress to stakeholders
  • Must have experience with managing client expectations and communicating effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Highly organized, attention to detail and excellent follow through skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing an entire product's lifecycle, from conception to launch
  • Experience working with distributed scheduling platforms and large-scale compute
  • Solid technical foundation in software development and delivery
  • Experience managing day-to-day technical and design direction
  • Knowledge of multiple functional areas such as product management, engineering, user experience, user research, sales, trading, treasury, customer support or marketing
  • Experience with Amazon’s Working Backwards process and drafting narratives/PRFaqs in clear, concise manner.
  • Familiar with machine learning and data products
