As the Head of Acquisition and Media, you will be responsible for leading our APAC & ME acquisition channels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving customer acquisition, revenue growth, and market share through development and execution of cutting-edge media strategies across paid search, paid social, display, affiliates and other digital channels.
The role encompasses managing a multi-million pound acquisition budget across four markets; agency and supplier relationships, including Google; and a small team that manages our digital acquisition channels and channel mix.
Your role in the team
The role reports to the APAC & ME Marketing Director and it is a critical role in the divisions marketing leadership team.
The APAC & ME markets are a huge opportunity for IG. We start from a position of strength but we have opportunities to diversify into adjacent products; challenge other brands with higher customer volumes (but lower revenues); and grow engagement with our existing, loyal base. This role is all about developing and executing on that growth opportunity.
What you’ll do
1. Strategy Development:
Develop and execute comprehensive paid media strategies aligned with business objectives, target audience, and marketing goals.
Identify opportunities for growth and innovation within paid media channels to drive performance and ROI.
Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to inform strategy development.
2. Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of paid media and referral marketing specialists, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
Set clear objectives and KPIs for team members and ensure alignment with overall business goals.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the paid media team.
3. Campaign Management:
Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of paid media campaigns across various channels, including search, display, social, video, and programmatic.
Manage campaign budgets, bidding strategies, and targeting tactics to maximize ROI and achieve performance goals.
Monitor campaign performance metrics and provide strategic recommendations for optimization.
4. Audience Targeting and Segmentation:
Develop audience targeting and segmentation strategies to reach specific audience segments with relevant messaging.
Utilize data-driven insights to identify and target high-value audience segments.
Collaborate with data analytics teams to leverage customer data for advanced targeting and personalization.
5.Creative Strategy:
Collaborate with local and creative teams to develop compelling ad creatives tailored to different channels and audience segments.
Ensure ad creatives are aligned with brand guidelines, optimized for performance, and drive engagement and conversions.
Implement creative testing strategies to optimize ad performance and improve campaign results.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Utilize data analytics tools to track, analyse, and report on campaign performance and KPIs.
Prepare regular performance reports with actionable insights and recommendations for optimization.
Conduct deep-dive analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
Vendor and Agency Management:
Manage relationships with advertising platforms, media vendors, and agencies to ensure effective campaign execution.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with media partners to maximize value and efficiency.
Evaluate new vendors and technologies to enhance campaign performance and capabilities.

What you'll need for this role
- Proven track record of success in a senior acquisition role, with a deep understanding of the APAC digital marketing landscape – including growth channels such as referrals and affiliates
- Extensive experience in developing and executing integrated media strategies across paid search, affiliate marketing, and other digital acquisition channels with demonstrated results in driving business growth and achieving KPIs.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of digital advertising platforms and technologies, including Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, DSPs, etc.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive decision-making and optimization.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to think creatively and innovatively.
- Experience in financial services or highly regulator equivalent a plus.
