Responsibilities
- Leading Mechanical Design Team for Oil & Gas Projects and guide a team of about 10 Mechanical Design Engineers / Designers to perform the Design of Mechanical Equipment of the project.
- Leading a Team of Mechanical Equipment Engineers & Designers in Preparation & Review of Mechanical Equipment List, Specification, Data Sheet & Technical Bid Evaluation for Rotating equipment’s such as Centrifugal pumps, PD Pumps, Gear pumps, Fire water pumps, Foam Pumps, Compressors, Mixer’s meeting Process Requirement, Client Specifications, Project Requirements, and all applicable Project Documents to enable Vendors to accurately bid for the supply of Equipment.
- Leading a Team of Mechanical Equipment Engineers & Designers in Preparation & Review of Mechanical Equipment List, Specification, Data Sheet & Technical Bid Evaluation for Package equipment’s such as Marine Loading Arm, N2 Generation Package, IA Package, Oil water separator package, Firefighting Equipment’s, Chemical Injection package, Vapor Recovery unit, Flare package, Refrigeration system package meeting Process Requirement, Client Specifications, Project Requirements and all applicable Project Documents to enable Vendors to accurately bid for the supply of Equipment.
- Leading a Team of Mechanical Equipment Engineers & Designers for detail review of Vendor document pre order to prepare the Technical Bid Evaluation and detail review of Vendor documents post order to ensure that the equipment’s are designed and delivered complying to the Project specification and Codes & Standards.
- Leading a Team of Engineers to execute the Basic Engineering Design & Detail Engineering Design of Mechanical equipment’s.
- Review & Checking of Mechanical Documents such as RFQ, Specifications, Mechanical Data Sheet, and Technical Bid Evaluation for Mechanical Equipment to ensure compliance to applicable Codes & Standards and Project Requirements.
- Review of Vendor Quotation, Evaluation & Preparation of Technical Bid Evaluation for Mechanical Equipment.
- Preparation, Monitoring and Control of Mechanical Engineering Document Control List and expedite for delay/ approvals / resolution of open issues.
- Review and ensures that all works are carried out in accordance with project specification. Maintain Design integrity and quality within the Mechanical Engineering Team.
- Preparing Mechanical Engineering schedule and Mechanical Engineering man hours estimation to meet project requirements.
- Review & Checking of Mechanical Equipment Vendor documents.
- Inter Discipline Review of other Discipline documents to ensure Vendor information are captured correctly.
- Preparation & Implementation of checklist for all Mechanical Equipment Documents.
- Management of Mechanical Equipment Discipline Engineers Team for development of Mechanical Equipment Design of Major Projects from feasibility studies through Conceptual Design to Detail Engineering.
- Maintain Design integrity and quality within the Mechanical Equipment Engineering Team.
- In-house Mechanical Equipment Engineering Activities and Mechanical Equipment Engineering Man Hours Estimation and Schedule.
- Preparation, Monitoring and Control of Mechenical Engineering Document Control List and expedite for delay/ approvals/resolution of open issues for Mechanical Equipment.
- Management and Supervision of Mechanical Equipment Engineering Design and Inter Discipline activities, Vendor Co-ordination, Procurement Assistance.
- Responsible for Mechanical Equipment Engineering Execution Methods and Procedure, Mechanical Equipment Engineering Disciplines Co-ordination, Mechanical Equipment Engineering Deliverables delivery for Project Execution, Mechanical Equipment Man-hours Monitoring, Attending design review Meetings with Clients and Package vendors.
- Review & Checking of other Discipline Documents including vendor documents, GA drawings, Mechanical Equipment data sheets etc for consistency, quality and Design Integrity.
- Preparation, Monitoring and Control of Mechanical Equipment Engineering Document Control List and expedite for delay/ approvals/resolution of open issues.
- Review and ensure that all Mechanical Equipment works are carried out in accordance with project specification. Maintain Design integrity and quality within the Mechanical Equipment Engineering Team.
- Preparing Mechanical Equipment Engineering schedule and Mechanical Equipment Engineering Man hours estimation to meet project requirements.
- Co-ordinate with other Discipline for Mechanical Equipment Dept Inputs and ensure seamless Inter Discipline co-ordination between Mechanical Equipment Dept and other Discipline.
- Job assignments, Mentoring and Supervision of works for Mechanical Equipment Design Engineers.
- Participates in discipline and inter-discipline design check and screening meetings for compatibility, completeness, and correctness in works.
- Co-ordination with client, conducting meeting if required to speed up the client/consultant’s approval for above basic design drawings/documents. Supporting the procurement in evaluating the supplier’s quotations and placement of orders.
- Development of subordinates by leading them in detail engineering activities for project. Discussions with team members to make them understand the project specifications and issuance of deliverables/drawings as per agreed dates in EDCL to meet the project schedule.
- Preparation of complete detail Mechanical Equipment engineering schedule consisting of various stages such as IDC, IFA and IFC deliverables and documents related to procurement and to align it with project schedule.
- Discussions with vendors to freeze the final requirements as per specifications. Reviewing vendor drawings to ensure that they are in line with project specifications meeting all the technical requirements.
- Attending FAT for various Mechanical Equipments, Prepare FAT Check list and ensure that Mechanical Equipment’s are delivered to site as per Project specification.
- Implement HSE objectives, policy, and company HSE procedures within his authority limit.
- To integrate Risk-based thinking and HSE considerations into business decisions, plans and operations with the commitment to eliminate and reduce HSE hazards, aspects and risks.
- To be proactive in creating a safe working environment for everyone and ensuring that HSE in-house rules are observed at all times.
- To consider HSE aspects when planning and carrying out tasks to eliminate and reduce HSE hazards, aspects, and risks.
Requirements
- Preferably Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Preferably to 15 years in Oil & Gas industry
