Responsibilities:
Linux Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and security assessments.
- Monitor system performance and ensure efficient operations.
- Implement and manage authentication/authorization mechanisms (LDAP, PAM, SSO).
- Conduct vulnerability scans and apply mitigation strategies.
- Support disaster recovery exercises and perform recovery drills.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Utilize configuration management tools like Ansible.
- Manage virtualization technologies (VMware & KVM).
- Implement and manage cloud-based solutions (AWS).
Database Administration:
- Configure and maintain Oracle, MySQL, and ERP Progress databases.
- Perform database backups, updates, and patching.
- Provide technical support for database-related issues.
- Implement database backup solutions.
- Respond to database monitoring alerts.
System Automation:
- Develop and maintain shell scripts to automate system tasks.
- Support Data Center operations, including RHEL management and OS/DB backups.
Support & Monitoring:
- Provide day-to-day system monitoring and support.
- Participate in standby rotation (one week every 5-6 weeks).
- Occasionally travel as needed.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Linux administration and shell scripting.
- Basic knowledge of databases (Oracle, MySQL) and Active Directory.
- Experience with VMware server administration.
- Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Ansible).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS).
- Experience with monitoring tools.
- Understanding of security practices and vulnerability management.
