RESPONSIBILITIES
The role holder serves has a business partner to the whole of MINDS for all accounting related matters. He/she ensure smooth day-to-day running of the accounting and finance operations. The role holder reports directly to the Director Finance.
The role holder will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of financial reports, analysis of variances, serving as business advisors, implementation of financial process improvement and ensuring financial controls are adequate and effective. He/she is also responsible in ensuring compliance with regulatory and funding bodies requirements with regards to financial reports.
Oversee the General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Functions
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes. Ensure closing are timely completed with Management reports and analysis
- Oversee the management cash flow and planning
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Develop, document, and monitor business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Suggest and oversee updates and improvements for accounting systems
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts and report variances
- Coordinate financial data analysis
- Coordinate the preparation of funding and regulatory reporting.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Preparation of Financial Statements for audit
- Liaise with statutory auditors and funders
- Provide relevant financial data and information to stakeholder to facilitate decision making process
- Involved in assigned projects to provide financial advices
- Additional controller duties as necessary
- Degree in Accountancy, ACCA or equivalent
OTHER INFORMATION
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Experience in Oracle NetSuite, fund accounting, social service sector and/or good IT knowledge with reporting building skills are advantageous.
- Good writing and communication skills.
- Strong business acumen.
