Key Responsibilities:
Instruction and Training:
- Provide riding lessons to individuals and groups, tailored to different skill levels from beginner to advanced.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for competitive riders, including goal setting and progress tracking.
- Develop result-driven pathways and trainings for competitions.
- Offer specialized training sessions in dressage as needed.
Supervision and Leadership:
- Manage and oversee the Riding School Office operations, hospitality, scheduling and profitability
- Mentor and supervise junior instructors, providing guidance and support to enhance their teaching skills.
- Conduct regular training sessions and workshops for staff to on updated competition rules, consistent teaching standards, and safety practices.
Horse Care and Management:
- Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all horses used in the program.
- Coordinate with the Yard Manager to develop and maintain a horse care schedule, including feeding, grooming, and veterinary care.
- Assist in the selection and training of horses for the Instructor Schooling Programme.
Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe riding environment for students and staff.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of riding facilities, equipment, and horses.
- Ensure compliance with local, and club regulations regarding equestrian activities.
Customer Service:
- Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and the equestrian community.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
Administrative Duties:
- Oversee scheduling lessons, managing bookings, and maintaining accurate records of student progress.
- Allocate suitable horses for riders for lease and competitions.
- Prepare reports and provide feedback to the General Manager on program performance and student development.
- Handles office administrative, include but not limited to manpower planning.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in horse riding instruction and training
- Specialisation in dressage training
- Professional certification from a recognized equestrian organization (e.g., British Horse Society, American Riding Instructors Association).
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Thorough knowledge of horse care and stable management.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of performing physical activities required in horse riding and stable management.
Working Conditions:
- The job involves working in an outdoor environment, including exposure to various weather conditions.
- Regular interaction with horses, which involves risk of injury.
- May require evening, weekend, and holiday work based on the needs of the riding school.
Salary commesurate with experience.
