Job Description
- Creates complete product layouts, working detail drawings, sub-assemblies, final assemblies and DBIs from rough sketches, mark-up prints and other reference materials as assigned by Senior CAD Designers, Lead CAD Designers, CAD Group Leader Engineers, Sales Personnel or Supervisor.
- Prepares and submits time estimates for review before assigned work is initiated.
- Prepares final CAD detail and assembly drawings and performs final drafting review to ensure drawings contain complete dimensional data for engineering and manufacturing purposes.
- Prepares and processes Engineering Change Notices according to procedure, modifies existing drawings and modifies required DBI (Data Base Information) documentation.
- Calculates dimensional tolerance requirements to ensure proper assembly fit according to design requirements defined by Engineers.
- Prepares CAD assembly drawings to verify adequate assembly fit and function.
- Participates in internal and/or external customer design review meetings. Prepares and presents information relating to the product design review.
- Prepares and processes final level sales or sequence drawings as directed.
- Performs administrative and related responsibilities as assigned.
- Serves as a resource to other staff.
Requirements
- GCE “A” Level, ITE or Diploma – Mechanical/Production Engineering with related work experience in mechanical drafting
- Five to eight plus years related design/drafting experience.
- Five years design drafting software experience (Microstation or Unigraphics preferred).
- Knowledge of FMCTI or similar products and manufacturing processes preferred.
- Time management skills that require only moderate supervision.
- Skills include design, product knowledge, enabling technology, and computer skills.
- Demonstrate effective internal communication skills.
- Demonstrate effective customer communication and presentation skills.
- Computer literate (Windows; MS Office; CAD software).
