We are seeking a Designer and Estimator to join our team.
As a Designer and Estimator in fire and security, you'll craft cutting-edge designs and accurate cost estimates for fire protection and security systems, ensuring projects meet client needs efficiently and within budget.
Design:
- Develop detailed system designs for fire and security projects, including fire alarm and access control.
- Produce technical drawings, specifications, and bills of materials using CAD software.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, codes of practice, and client requirements.
- Collaborate with operational teams to refine solutions and provide technical support
Estimating:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for fire and security systems, considering labour, materials, and equipment costs.
- Analyse project specifications and requirements to identify key deliverables and cost drivers.
- Source and obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
- Review historical data and current market trends to produce accurate and competitive estimates.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of pricing and supplier information.
- Present and justify estimates to management and clients, addressing any questions or concerns.
Required Skills and experience:
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Proven experience in design and estimation within the electrical or fire & security industries.
- Comprehensive knowledge of fire and security systems (fire alarms, access control).
- Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Microstation
- M & E consultant and Fire Protection Installlation sub contractors and vendors.
