As a regional marketing leader (RML), the Regional Marketing Director has responsibility for our Oncology portfolio disease strategy in Gastrointestinal cancers, Head & Neck cancers and lead the integration of the biomarker & diagnostics strategy in the Asia-Pacific region. This position reports directly to the Executive Director Regional Marketing Oncology and is based in Singapore where the Asia Pacific regional office is located.


The RML is accountable for enabling the achievement of the revenue targets for Oncology (Gastrointestinal cancers, Head & Neck cancers) and ensure the alignment of biomarker & diagnostics strategy to the AP region oncology priorities. This role partners with countries on developing their Franchise Strategies and ensure full integration with Regional and Country Market Access, Medical Affairs, Policy, and Public Affairs. In addition, this position will closely collaborate with our business partners and key external stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities include:


Team Leader & People Manager in the AP Regional Oncology:

  • Build high-performing teams through effective management, motivation, development, retention and succession.
  • Manage the team to identify opportunities and capitalize on their potential to drive market growth across the entire region.
  • Regularly communicate with Global/Regional relevant leaders and AP countries teams, reach consensus, and drive a business success.
  • Practice company values and ways of working to create an open, inclusive and responsible work environment.

Gastrointestinal (GI) Cancers:

  • Work with the AP countries and the regional cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and capitalize on their potential to obtain market leadership through driving growth of existing indications, creating launch excellence of new indications across the entire region, broadening patient access to critical indications.
  • Oversee and orchestrate the process of building the business/financial and strategies to maximize revenue and operating income.
  • Identify needs in business development, regulatory, infrastructure, resource, and forecasting; and assist AP markets to fulfill those needs.
  • Provide customer, commercial, and marketing input to the global cross functional team to shape and influence the global marketing strategy and other deliverables to ensure that HH assets are available to meet AP market needs.
  • Engage with senior/executive leaders in the key countries to drive, monitor, and enhance the overall performance of the Franchises in each market.

Head & Neck Cancers:

  • Work with the AP countries and the regional cross-functional teams to solidify the market leadership.
  • Develop and manage disease strategies to maximize revenue and operating income.
  • Build future strategy of moving from metastatic to early stage in collaboration with global disease strategy team.
  • Unleash the potential for the maximized growth and monitor the performance trend.

Biomarkers and Diagnostics:

  • Ensures alignment of regional/country biomarker strategies/activities to the AP oncology priorities, as well as for the partnership with Agilent.
  • Liaise between the AP region and Global/HHI to build and maintain the most effective and relevant biomarker strategy for the AP market.
  • Be the voice of our AP Oncology to the business partners in aligning commercialization strategy for Companion Diagnostics and optimization of new diagnostic testing.

Education:

  • Required: BA/BS degree from an accredited university.
  • Preferred: MSc/MBA degree from an accredited university.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in Oncology (Commercial, Medical, Access or etc.) preferred.
  • Experience in AP markets is required.
  • People manger experience is required.
  • Deep understanding in the access & reimbursement is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving, teamwork, ability to direct the resolution of highly complex business challenges.
  • Resilience & tenacity under pressure.
  • Business acumen, financial management, and deep interest and understanding of people and team management.
  • Ability to operate in a multicultural environment and experience leading matrix structures and personnel (e.g., executing through others even without direct supervisory authority).
  • Strategic thinking, strategic planning and prioritization skills.
  • Effective communication and influencing/ persuasion skills, outstanding written/verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Analytical skills and ability to synthesize data/insights from local markets into recommendation/input to global strategy.
