The main responsibilities and tasks of this position are listed as, but not limited to the following:
- To plan and direct departmental objectives to meet company objectives.
- To ensure compliance of all local fire safety, building control & environmental codes and regulations.
- To plan and implement energy conservation projects.
- To create a sound and strong working relationship among the Engineering staff and with other departments.
- To provide the link between the Engineering staff and Deputy Head.
- To ensure that the discipline of the Engineering staff is according to the Hotel’s and departmental rules and regulations.
- To develop and train individual staff according to their own potential.
- To monitor, update and control spare inventory.
- To monitor all breakdown maintenance is attended to promptly according to the standard requirements.
- To attend & resolve emergencies.
- To assign & monitor tasks of the Engineering staff.
- To prepare liaise & communicate with other departments, contractors, and suppliers.
- To conduct daily briefings in the absence of Assistant Chief Engineer.
- To update POMEC expenses.
- To ensure the Preventive Maintenance works (CARE) are carried out accordingly.
- To assist Security department during fire drill exercise
- To perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Management.
