Maintenance Supervisor

Job Purpose

The Maintenance Supervisor manages all maintenance and repair work, documentation, and reporting.

Principal Accountabilities

1. Supervises all maintenance and repairs activities in the restaurant.
2. Fixes the problems of the restaurant to solve any occurring maintenance problem (electrical, mechanical, etc...).
3. Coordinates and liaises with maintenance contractors when it is necessary and approved by the management.
4. Performs on site supervision of rehabilitation works, or other significant maintenance works.
5. Prepares maintenance and repairs reports, statistics and expenses breakdown.
6. Maintains the inventory of tools and material needed for immediate maintenance cases.
7. Maintains proper documentation and filing of all maintenance work conducted on facility equipment.
8. Carries out routine preventive maintenance and minor repair works.
9. Supervises staff and lead the team to ensure maintenance programs are carried out effectively.
10. Helps develop maintenance procedures effectively by providing useful adjustments and ideas.
11. Monitors and reports the performance of direct subordinates and recommends appropriate training for them.
12. Reacts quickly and efficiently to any breakdown in order not to cause any shortage in the operations department.
13. Schedules round the clock employee coverage.
14. Assures that the workshop is well stocked with tools and spare parts.
15. Assist the project manager and works with the cleaning supervisor to maintain a clean and hazard & pest free facility.
16. Performs other duties pertinent to this job as assigned

Communication & Working Relationships

1. Interacts with different departments to ensure the delivery of accurate maintenance service (preventive and emergency)
2. Communicate professionally with suppliers while maintaining transparent and honest relationships

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

1. Certificate or Diploma equivalent in any maintenance related field (electrical or mechanical)
2. At least 4 years’ experience in maintenance and repairs, out of which 2 years in a supervisory position within a leading hospitality company
3. Computer literate including knowledge of MS Office & maintenance and repairs tools and material
4. Excellent communication skills and follow up
5. Ability to work under stress in a teamwork environment
6. Well experienced in leading and motivating people

Physical Requirements of the job

The job of the Maintenance Supervisor may require attending the operations (after duty hours) in case of emergencies and should always be reachable by phone. It also necessitates some physical handling of products, including lifting and transportation.
