Product Sales Executive (Building Materials)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote the company’s products and services to achieve sales and profit targets with building contractors, specialist contractors, and building materials dealers.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers and contractors, ensuring they receive expert advice on product applications.
  • Collaborate with managers to gather product information, pricing, and inventory levels for preparing accurate quotations.
  • Prepare detailed product costings, pricings, quotations, and tenders tailored to customer requirements.
  • Assist the Senior Product Manager in organizing marketing activities and product demonstrations for architects, designers, developers, and contractors.
  • Maintain product inventories and coordinate with principals/suppliers regarding shipment and delivery logistics.
  • Coordinate with principals and Store Supervisor to ensure timely delivery of materials to customers.
  • Supervise Product Representatives, providing guidance and support in their sales activities.
  • Initiate purchase requisitions and ensure timely collection of payments from customers.

Competence (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • Solid understanding of the Construction/Building/Architecture industry dynamics.
  • Proficiency in preparing materials and delivering presentations in small group settings (user demos, customer presentations).
  • Strong negotiation skills with customers, principals, and suppliers to meet project requirements.
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships with a focus on mutual benefit.
  • Experience managing the sales process, including proposal development, costings, negotiation, and closing deals.
  • Ability to handle routine tasks and manage tasks with varying degrees of complexity.
  • Effective problem-solving skills within established guidelines and procedures.
  • Independent worker who can adapt to changes, embrace new technologies, and improve operational efficiencies.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum Diploma in Mechanical/Civil Engineering or equivalent technical field.
  • At least 3 years of sales experience, preferably with technical product knowledge in the building/construction industry.
