Core responsibilities:
- Oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions and manage full set of books for a group of companies (including review payment vouchers, sub-con payments, bank reconciliations, journal vouchers etc.)
- Supervise a team of Accounts Executives (“AE”) & Accounts Assistants (“AA”) to ensure timely and accurate month end and year end closing
- Review management reports and audit schedules prepared by AE & AA
- Prepare and submit monthly variance analysis, cash flow statements and update of order book (for assigned company and group level)
- Prepare yearly budget and half-year forecast process, budget/ forecast compilation and budget/ forecast reports for assigned company and group level
- Review /prepare quarterly GST returns (Form 5)
- To prepare year end audit (including corporate and deferred taxation computation) and liaise with external auditors
- To liaise with tax representatives for annual tax returns and estimated chargeable income (ECI), GST Assisted Compliance Assurance Programme (ACAP) submission, and prepare the necessary documents upon enquiry.
- Prepare consolidated group accounts
- Prepare draft financial statements for companies which are subjected to statutory audit and for exempt companies
- Assist in new processes and system implementation, update/ review of Accounting Financial Manual and Accounting Policies when required
- Liaise with internal business units and external parties (e.g. company secretary, auditors, bankers, tax authorities etc.)
- Any other ad hoc duties as assigned
Job Specifications
Minimum qualifications/ Experience required:
- Minimum ACCA or recognised degree in Accountancy – At least 6 years of experience in full set of accounts (audit and/or commercial)
- Intermediate to advanced skills and knowledge of Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office applications
- Experience in preparing consolidated group accounts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skill
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization
- Able to multi-task and prioritise work scope efficiently
- Positive attitude and resourceful, and a team player
- Highly detail-oriented
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in construction industry
- Some supervisory experience
