Duties and Responsibilities
- Be the advisor to Masters/ Chief Engineers on navigation operations, charts & publications supply, cargo operations, deck operations, technical/ engine room operations.
- Monitor maintenance system and reporting from vessels.
- Carry out and coordinate various audits, ship board inspections and risk assessments.
- Arrange classes and statutory certification status and surveys and inspections where required.
- Conduct investigations of incidents.
- Prepare vessels’ Annual Operating Budget
- People manager to Masters and Chief Engineers assigned to the vessel under supervision.
- Build and maintain good relations with Principals.
- A member of Emergency Response Team.
- Docking of Vessel
Requirements
- Diploma in Marine Engineering
- Preferably with direct ship experience (as Senior Engineer)
- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience 1-3 years of shore experience as superintendent is preferred, candidate with Senior engineer experience fresh from sea are welcome as well
- Ability to work within tight schedules under intense pressure and be able to offer best remedies for unanticipated incidents
- Able to work irregular hours including late at night, weekends and public holidays
- Must be able to board vessels or able to climb heights
- Willing to be exposed to external environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer literate and familiar with MS Office application software
