Key Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize and optimize thermal design solutions for high-power electronics products.
- Perform mechanical design of PCBA placement, chassis, cabinets, and racks, including 3D modeling and 2D drawing generation.
- Conduct simulations and analyses of flow, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and structural mechanics using computational software.
- Collaborate with suppliers to fabricate mechanical parts, such as sheet metal, metal machining, plastic, and rubber.
- Integrate thermal management solutions, such as cold plates, chassis, enclosures, liquid manifolds, sensors, and controls into the system.
- Plan and execute thermal and flow measurements to validate numerical simulations.
- Performing other assigned duties, such as failure analysis, benchmarking, literature search, supply base development, and customer engagement.
Education and Experience:
- A diploma/degree in Thermal/Mechanical/Material/Energy Engineering or a related field is required.
- At least 2 years of experience is preferred.
- Candidates must have experience and skill in test and verification.
- Proficiency in Solidworks and associated finite element tools, such as Flow and Structure Simulations, or other CAD/CAE tools is required.
- Candidates must be able to read, interpret, and create CAD drawings.
- Experience with geometric tolerances analysis is preferred.
- Strong understanding of thermal/mechanical/material/energy engineering fundamentals, and design for assembly/manufacture (DFA/DFM).
- Knowledge of flow mechanics, heat transfer, thermal and thermo-stress.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in operating mechanical tools, such as drill presses and grinders, to modify or fabricate experimental parts for testing and verification.
- A self-motivated, team-oriented attitude, willing to learn and take on new challenges.
