We're a leading global energy company with a rich history of innovation and a commitment to shaping the future of energy. We are looking for a seasoned professional to join our Downstream Strategy and Capital Planning team as a Strategic Energy Investment Analyst.
Your Mission:
- Drive Strategic Investments: Play a pivotal role in shaping our downstream investment portfolio. You'll lead techno-economic analyses on a wide range of energy opportunities, primarily focusing on refining, petrochemicals, and integrated assets.
- Champion Sustainability: Evaluate the environmental and social impact of our investments, with a focus on emissions reduction, carbon footprint optimization, and the integration of sustainable technologies.
- Collaborate for Success: Work closely with cross-functional teams across our organization to develop investment criteria, identify strategic tradeoffs, and implement plans that align with our overall energy strategy.
- Navigate the Global Energy Landscape: Leverage your deep understanding of global energy markets and trends to identify emerging opportunities and assess their potential impact on our business.
- Be an Industry Expert: Share your expertise in refining and chemical process technologies, including the latest developments in decarbonization, circularity, and non-fossil feedstocks.
Your Expertise:
- Seasoned Professional: Minimum of 15 years of experience in operations, technology, or business development within the downstream energy sector, with a proven track record of successful economic and commercial evaluations.
- Technical Guru: Proficiency in asset techno-economic modeling and optimization tools (e.g., PIMS, Petroplan) and expertise in utilizing data from leading industry sources (IHS (S&P), WoodMac, Rystad).
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to think critically, analyze complex data, and develop actionable recommendations that align with our company's strategic objectives.
- Global Perspective: Strong understanding of global energy markets, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- Strong Communicator: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field. MBA or an advanced degree is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in the economic and commercial evaluation of downstream energy projects, including refining, petrochemicals, trading, and retail.
- Expertise in utilizing industry-standard modeling and data analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of global energy markets, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
