Here’s what you’ll do:
- Advise managers and employees on HR-related policies and enforcement of local policies
- Review and establish standard operating procedures, guidelines and HR templates
- Integration with HR in other NPDL business units to ensure alignment and synergies
- Manage the employee lifecycle including employee relations matters, investigations and complaints
- Maintain full competent crews in cooperation with the Marine HR Coordinator
- Drive permanent recruitment and operational needs and oversee recruitment processes
- Ensure that recruitment and any agencies serving the Company maintain verifiable operational practice, which complies with the requirements of Standard A1.4 of the MLC.
- Manpower and headcount planning
- Develop an internal talent development program and pathways for seafarers aimed at improving retention and internal development with a strong interest in Pacific Island nations
- Build talent pools via strategic sourcing plans using an array of tools and resources.
- Monitor and coordinate training, attendance of internal/external courses and certifications for all ship personnel and ensure plans are aligned with business needs, strategy and budget
- Assist management in evaluating performance of team members, providing guidance regarding coaching, counselling and development.
- Deploy Performance Management framework per vessel aligned to Company program
- Maintain a program for monitoring Crewing Agents’ and other related business partners’ performance
- Drive yearly recurring HR tasks such as annual salary adjustments and performance management
- Take an active part in the safety culture within the Company
- Coordinate the activities related to personnel administration in order to secure safe, efficient and cost-effective statutory requirements
- Strictly act on policies with respect of Quality Management Systems, Health, Safety and Welfare, as well as other contractors (internal and external)
- Keep abreast with new technology and Marine HR related matters & share knowledge with the Marine Management team.
- Actively participate in Crew Selection process and ensure a well experienced and balanced team is placed onboard.
- Ensure that crew appraisals are recorded in a timely manner in compliance with company requirement.
- Oversee the handling of insurance claims & leave related to maritime personnel.
- Co-ordinate with the Marine HSEQ and the Technical team for an effective crew briefing before joining and then onboarding / familiarization when on board.

- Develop and deploy employee engagement framework on vessels to improve morale, productivity and retention
- Ensure compliance with STCW, MLC and other international, national, legislation and industrial requirements in Marine HR functionality
- Partner with the Marine & HSEQ Superintendent to ensure seafarers actively participate and understand the Company’s Mission Statement, Values and Strategic Pillars
- Represent the Company as part of the Emergency Response Team (ERT)
- Maintain close working relationships with Flag states, Industry organisations and Associations to ensure strong knowledge on Maritime industry changes related to Crewing matters
- Other duties as directed
