You are responsible for the administration of the ISS Library.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the day-to-day running of both the High School and Primary School sections of the ISS Library.
- Ensure that the Library collection meets the needs of the School’s programmes, the ISS Definition of High Quality Learning, the school’s commitment to global citizenship, and complies with IB regulations.
- Create and implement the Library development plan in line with the ISS mission, vision, and values.
- Catalog and circulate materials.
- Maintain the Library collection, including stocktaking, ordering, and culling the collection.
- Oversee the use of all library and audio-visual equipment.
- Maintain and update the Library Database.
- Regularly review the Library Database operating system.
- Form and facilitate a whole school Library Committee to assist in the smooth running of the Library.
- Assist and train students and staff in using library systems and technologies.
- Prepare and operate the Library budget.
- Review library usage data to determine needs for budgeting.
- Liaise with teaching staff regarding collection needs.
- Maintain access to online accounts and subscribed periodicals.
- Attend Faculty Meetings to keep up-to-date with school developments.
- Attend planning meetings to provide support to subject areas/grade levels.
- Ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information.
- Any other duties as directed by the Academic Leadership Team.
Requirements
- You should possess a Degree or any course of study in the field of Library Studies
- You should have experience working in a school library
- You should possess good organizational and interpersonal skills
- You should be able to work at ease with people from different cultural backgrounds.
- You should ideally possess strong IT skills
