Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for daily network operation activities, network level support requests, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Work closely with network teams in the regions, other IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to plan and execute network-related tasks.
- Maintaining network environment of the organization including firewall, Proxy, VPN appliances, Wi-Fi, LAN, WAN supports.
- Assist network lead and build team design of network when needed, based on the organizational requirement, including designing LAN, WAN, VPA solutions, selecting appropriate hardware and software, and implementing network protocols.
- Configuring and managing network devices as the operation routines, to ensure optimal performance and security as per the organizational standards.
- Monitoring network performance, and troubleshoo6ting issues such as network congestion, proxy blocking, packet loss, and latency.
- Utilizing network monitoring tools to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Involve in implementing and maintaining network security measures to protect against cyber threats and unauthorised access.
- Involve in configuring firewall policy, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and VPN posture check, as well as the network security layer over the cloud environments, with best practices such as network segregation, gateway policy and access controls.
- Develop and maintain network backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical network infrastructure and data in the event of system failures or disasters.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
- Generating reports on network statistics, performance, security and incidents, and compliance with network security requirements.
- Collaborating with solutions teams or other IT teams and departments to ensure that network infrastructure meets the needs of organizations.
- Communicating technical information effectively to technical team and non-technical stakeholders.
- Coordinate and implement network changes, upgrades, and enhancements following established change management processes to minimize disruptions and maintain system integrity.
- Ensure that network compliance with standards, best practices, participate in security audits and assessments, implementing remediation actions as needed.
- Training and knowledge sharing within the network teams in the regions, to enhance team’s member skills and capabilities in managing the network infrastructure and operations.
- Keep network lead and reporting manager informed on the network cases, updates, changes and reports.
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in networking, evaluating new technologies and making recommendations for adoptions and improvement based on organization needs.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline..
- Minimal 3+ years’ relevant working experience in Network Engineer role.
- Proficient in network protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, SDWAN, SDLAN, CABS, SASE, MPLS, VPN.
- Working experience with network hardwares from vendors such as Cisco, FortiGate, Aruba.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) preferred.
- Well familiar with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, e.g., SolarWinds.
- Ability to analyse complex network issues and troubleshoot problem efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and systematic approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, able to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment, and independently when necessary.
- Willingness to share knowledge to the teams and mentor junior team members.
