Joining our esteemed APAC Labs team, we seek a Principal Architect to contribute to our Open Innovation Labs (Labs) in Singapore. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead engagements that transcend mere technology implementation, driving organizational transformation. Collaborating closely with customers in small, agile teams, you'll focus on building, testing, and iterating over innovative application prototypes with real business impact. As the lead architect, you'll leverage emerging open-source technology and modern design methods to co-create transformative software solutions, all while coaching and empowering your team to excel.
What you will do
- Lead the discovery, architecture, and implementation of cutting-edge solutions using cloud-native development practices and emerging open-source technologies
- Cover domains including microservices, Application Modernization, Platform Engineering, and SRE, utilizing Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and cloud automation
- Partner with the open-source community to engineer solutions that drive our customers' success at Labs.
- Be a thought leader, innovatively employing critical and strategic thinking to address complex challenges.
- Present vision, strategy, and roadmaps to stakeholders across various levels, from executives to technical teams.
- Maintain hands-on coding involvement during Lab engagements, ensuring deep technical knowledge and expertise and conveying the skills and craft to our customers and Red Hatters
- Lead a group of consulting architects, building a trusted community of experts ready to take on any challenge
What you will bring
- 15+ years of experience in software architecture or related roles, with a proven track record of designing and developing complex solutions.
- Master's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, with a willingness to travel up to 50% throughout APAC and globally as required
- Proficiency in facilitating software design and architecture workshops and engagements, coupled with strong customer-facing skills on all levels, especially executive level
- Expertise in container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift, along with object-oriented design principles and modern software development practices
- Expert knowledge of cloud-native application development and infrastructure practices including Agile software development, platform engineering, DevSecOps, and SRE practices and cultures, with operational experience.
- Have a clear understanding of cloud service/operating models and deployment methods including backup and restore.
- Profound know-how of key regulatory requirements to operate mission-critical systems.
