We are seeking a self-motivated, commercially oriented and driven individual who can demonstrate a sound understanding of fundamental analysis, commercial acumen, risk assessment and management in the context of a commodities trading environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. Candidates should also be data oriented and have an aptitude for numbers.
This role would suit a well-rounded analytics professional with strong quantitative and statistical skills together with previous industry experience. This demanding role is deeply involved in the day-to-day trading activities of the oil desk. As the Trading Analytics and Risk Management departments work closely together, applicants will be assessed for their suitability for either the Trading Analyst or Risk Manager position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES [Trading Analyst]
- Contribute and take responsibility for internal analysis reports, covering oil products markets, prices, spreads, cracks and cross asset correlations analysis, and build tools that can support this analysis going forward and/or for the traders to use;
- Continually solicit requests for ad hoc analysis relevant to the business;
- Work closely with the trading desks to tailor the research and analysis in accordance with business requirements;
- Identifying market relationships & pricing anomalies to provide insights and competitive advantage for the traders;
- Analyse ideas with traders, produce research supporting them & foster discussion across trading books, working closely with analysts from other books;
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES [Risk Manager]
- Trade capture & reconciliation of physical oil and paper trades (Futures, Swaps, Options).
- Daily position exposure monitoring and reporting to traders, highlighting exposure concentration and hedging requirements.
- Execute and manage hedging programs for traders with brokers (internal / external).
- Daily Profit & Loss computation & validating this against market movements or other costs / revenues.
- Daily & Monthly Profit & Loss and working capital movement analysis and explanatory commentary.
- Daily capture and accrual of secondary costs/revenues and periodic reviews of book accrual status.
- Daily interaction with Operations staff on various aspects of physical oil logistics, quality and costs.
- Liaising with Financial Control team on accounting matters or trade / cost capture in accordance with company guidelines and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Tracking of physical trade movements and notifications and update the relevant trades in the system.
- Ad-hoc trader support and analysis – research and analysis on market structure, spreads, price movements, cargo movements, P&L investigations and explanations, etc.
- Review global position & VAR reports to ensure the desk exposure is reflected correctly in the desk and division VAR reporting.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Educated to Degree/Masters with strong mathematical inclination
- Strong coding skills (VBA, SQL,Python, Database, C#, AngularJS etc)
