RESPONSIBILITIES
- Formulate and implement strategies/action plans for forging partnerships with universities - undertaking research and analysis of markets and universities, as well as trends and developments in the international education environment, to identify opportunities for the SMU community, focusing on forging partnerships with universities in Asia and in particular China.
- Advise and support management in SMU's external engagements, including managing incoming visits by partners/higher education institutes and staffing SMU principals for outgoing missions.
- Formulate, implement and evaluate strategies/action plans to raise awareness and build reputation for SMU within the global university community.
- Staff and support SMU principals' participation in international forums and networks, including the drafting of speeches/keynote addresses and discussion pointers, as well as publicly available information.
- Project lead in the Office's communications initiatives.
- At least a Bachelor's degree in International Relations, Communications, International Marketing or other global-oriented fields of study.
- At least 6 years work experience in international work with proven high-competency and achievements in partnership development and management work, as well as cross-cultural projects.
- Keen understanding of, and experience working in Asia, in particular China.
- A strategic and analytical thinker.
- High level of written and oral communication skills, who enjoys writing, as well as editing work.
- Is meticulous, with an eye for detail and a keen appreciation of good documentation.
- Able to manage multiple, competing tasks, and meet tight deadlines with a high-level of accuracy.
- A good combination of high intelligence, emotional and cultural quotients.
- Enjoys engaging and working with people, a good team player.
