Role and Responsibilities:
In your role as Vice General Manager for the Marketing Product Strategy Department, you will lead the charge in crafting and rolling out innovative marketing product strategies that are in line with our overarching goals. A pivotal aspect of your position involves overseeing the management of our intellectual property (IP) in collaboration with our headquarters in Japan.
This role demands strong engagement with our Japanese counterparts and might require you to undertake frequent trips or short-term residencies in Japan during your first year. This is to ensure a comprehensive onboarding process and to build a rapid and deep understanding of our stakeholder landscape, setting the stage for future strategic influence.
Core Responsibilities:
- Strategic Financial and Operational Leadership: Guide the organization to achieve its financial and operational objectives within the division/business unit, contributing to the company's broad financial and strategic goals.
- Budgeting and Objective Setting: Formulate and manage budgets, establish short- and long-term goals, and set benchmarks for tracking progress and evaluating success.
- Comprehensive Product Strategy Oversight: Oversee the entire product strategy lifecycle, from initial conception and definition to discontinuation, including the incubation, acquisition, sale, or closure of software asset IPs.
- Product Engineering Team Leadership: Direct the product engineering team, ensuring their development roadmap, priorities, and projects are fully aligned with the department's business objectives.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with various departments across the company, such as engineering, legal, tax, and accounting, to implement the organization’s policies and coordinate activities through subordinate managers.
- Organizational Management: Oversee the organizational structure, including tasks related to people management like recruitment, hiring, and development of team members.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive marketing enterprise SaaS business experience, with at least 3 years in leadership roles. Possesses experiences in various stages such as conceptualization, launch, growth, and maturity, as well as the ability to define a product vision and strategy and effectively communicate it throughout the organization.
- Bilingual in business-level English and Business-level Japanese to engage effectively with stakeholders and conduct business in Japan and other APAC region.
- Abilities to manage P&L with accounting principles and drive business development to advance growth stage product footprint.
- Capable of effectively communicating with individuals at all levels of the organization, including senior executives. Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to engage with senior management are essential.
- Displays a strong passion for business growth including its underlying technologies, with a customer and data-driven approach and a determined "Get Things Done" mindset.
