Overall Objectives:
The Medalist contributes to the workshop operations by working in the Medal department and handling the equipment within the department to operate heavy and advance machineries.
The Medalist works under close supervision to carry out structured work while adhering closely to standard work instructions and procedures. He / She sets up and operates special purpose equipment / machines to fabricate components and parts. In the process, he / she is required to read and interpret sketches, drawings, manuals and specifications.
He / She also observes the machines, detects malfunctions and makes the necessary adjustments to ensure smooth operations.
He / she is expected to adhere to all workshop requirements and processes, safety parameters and company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure that the products manufactured are free from discrepancies and are of utmost quality in accordance to company’s quality requirements.
He / she works in a team under a manufacturing environment to achieve workshop and quality targets and may be required to work over-time. He / she should be comfortable with repetitive work activities, working in accordance to company’s schedule requirements, operating machinery, as well as exposure to physically demanding work conditions such as long hours of sitting / standing and working in a hot temperature environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform core manufacturing processes, including but not limited to: Filing, Sawing, Soldering & Polishing/Buffing
- Stamping. Use stamping (power pressing) machine to produce specific shapes according to specifications
- Material Preparation and Cutting
- Melting of metals, cut and prepare necessary material for stamping
- Operate Milling machine to shape metals and other solid material
- Operate Lathe machine to cut metals from cylindrical work piece and convert it into desired shape and form in accordance specifications
- Deburr objects to neaten and smoothen the rough edges or ridges
- Operate Electrical Discharge Machine to remove metal by electric spark erosion
Education & Qualifications
- Prior experience working in the manufacturing sector will be an added advantage
- Candidate will need to be proficient in mandarin; Work Orders are written in mandarin
