The selected Traineewill initially be placed in our Asia Tax Team, this being the first assignment for 12 months. The Trainee will then have the potential to rotate amongst other departments after the 12 months, subject to business needs.
Asia Tax, Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing tax returns including GST, Withholding Taxes, income taxes, etc., for the group entities in Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, Hong Kong and any other new jurisdictions
- Manage tax compliance calendars to ensure no late filings
- Coordinate with relevant functions to collect and organize supporting documents for the above tax return preparation
- Assist in income tax provisions and effective tax rate reconciliations
- Reconcile tax accounts with tax returns and propose adjustment entries if needed
- Identify and propose opportunities for process improvement and system automation
- Assist in reviewing transfer pricing documentations
- Assist in addressing tax queries, investigations, audits etc.
- Support tax projects including advance pricing agreement with competent tax authorities, tax incentive application and administration, advance tax ruling applications in applicable jurisdictions
- Assist in researching tax regulations and monitoring legislative and regulatory tax law developments
Skills/Qualifications:
- Candidate should be a final year student or already recently graduated with a degree in an Accounting related discipline
- Learning experience in tax courses is a plus
- Possesses analytical and quantitative skills with high level of proficiency in Excel
- Good atnumbers and detail-oriented
- Multi-task management skills especially under the time pressure
- Strong research skills
- Responsible team player
- Multi-lingual with good interpersonal and communication skills
- Possess high level of self-initiative and hunger to learn
