Established Education Provider seeking for Manager / Assistant Director, Financial Accounting
Duration: 1 Year Contract
Monday - Thursday (8.30AM - 5.45PM) & Friday (8.30AM - 5.15PM)

Responsibilities:
The Assistant Director, Finance and Governance will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of financial policies and governance processes. The successful candidate will lead change management initiatives, collaborate with stakeholders, improve processes, and contribute to various projects within the Finance and Governance team.
Policy Development and Implementation:
- Initiate and lead policy change projects through collaboration with business partners and stakeholders to identify needs and gather feedback.
- Propose, develop, and refine policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the University's best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Develop comprehensive materials to communicate policy changes to the community effectively.
- Monitor the implementation of new policies, evaluate effectiveness, and recommend adjustments for continuous improvement.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously identify opportunities to streamline and optimise financial and governance processes.
- Collaborate across teams to implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Document and communicate process changes to ensure consistency and understanding across the University.
Tender Process Support:
- Gather and analyse data to support the tender process.
- Liaise with stakeholders and prepare comprehensive evaluation materials to assist in decision-making.
Project Management:
- Lead improvement projects, including the Delegation of Authority Framework, Internal Controls Governance, and other project initiatives.
- Execute and implement project plans, monitor progress and ensure timely completion and achievement of objectives, including maintaining detailed project documentation.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and team members to drive successful project outcomes.
- Enable change management through facilitating user training and workshops.
Other Responsibilities:
- Handle ad-hoc tasks and projects assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in accountancy.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a finance role, with strong background and involvement in internal controls and governance.
- Demonstrated experience in policy development and implementation, process improvement, and project management.
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, and well-structured documents.
- Capable of conducting comprehensive market research, assessing impact, and drive continuous improvement strategies to enhance initiatives.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and manage projects within tight timelines.
- Meticulous, process-driven and self-motivated.
