The Opportunity
You will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the client’s virtual infrastructure, storage systems, and data backup solutions.
Hypervisor Management:
- Design, implement, and maintain virtual infrastructure using hypervisor technologies such as VMware or Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM).
- Monitor and optimize virtual machine performance, resource allocation, and utilization.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of the virtual infrastructure through proactive maintenance and monitoring.
- Manage and resolve incidents and problems related to the virtual environment.
Storage Management:
- Oversee the administration of storage systems, such as SAN and NAS.
- Perform regular storage health/utilization checks and recommend optimization.
- Ensure sufficient capacity for application/infrastructure needs across storage systems.
- Manage and resolve incidents and problems related to the storage systems.
Backup Management:
- Manage backup solution for client’s environment.
- Monitor backup schedules, ensuring successful completion and addressing any failures.
- Ensure compliance with data retention policies and regulations.
- Manage and resolve incidents and problems related to the backup solution.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain documentation of virtual environments, storage configurations, and backup procedures.
- Generate regular reports on system performance, capacity planning, and backup status.
- Prepare Root Cause Analysis report for high severity incidents.
- Escalate to vendor when necessary for incident resolution
