Job Description:
- Responsible for defining and implementing the company’s sourcing strategy across his/her categories in collaboration with the Sourcing Director
- Drive sourcing strategy to support strategic opportunities, global balance and help company achieve our financial plans
- Partner with vendors to deliver high-quality, trend-right merchandise at great value for our customers
- Establish a strong supplier base and develop alternative solutions to achieve product and business objectives
- Responsible for new supplier/factory recommendations and selection
- Lead the onboarding of new suppliers/factories and continuous improvements of related processes
- Partner with vendors to deliver high-quality, trend-right merchandise at great value for our customers
- Work with a cross-function team including Company's Merchants and Product Development teams to turn ideas into the merchandise in our stores
- Drive reduction of lead times and supply chain speed in order to help Company be first to market
- Utilize negotiating skills and costing expertise to ensure quality/cost, and deliver maximum bottom-line impact
- Manage multiple product categories with varying levels of detail
- Assess risk of kidswear design, construction, trims etc with QA team at development stage and guide vendors to follow safety requirements to minimize quality concerns
- Evaluate capabilities of new/existing vendors to ensure styles are allocated to the right vendors
- Perform any ad-hoc tasks/projects when required
Previous experience in a large US Sourcing/Buying office would be preferred
- Degree educated in business or related discipline
- 10+ years relevant merchandising experience, preferably with a buying office
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
- Demonstrated leadership skills, but must be a team player
- Ability to multi-task successfully and prioritize while meeting critical deadlines
- Strong analytical and financial skills is a must
- Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail
- Passionate about fashion and strong customer-sense
- Effective negotiation, influencing and sourcing skills
- Proactive, dynamic with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Travelling is required
Languages:
- Able to communicate in Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin- speaking buyers/vendors
- Fluent in English. And another SEA language would be an advantage
