Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing complete analysis, estimate, and studies for all deliverables involved in the assigned scope.
- Identify design and constructability issues and analysis to determine constructability.
- Develop detailed cost estimates from engineering drawings.
- Act as a connection between subcontractors, design team and client.
- Determine required but non indicated scope through the analysis of site conditions and all contract documents (plans specifications, etc.)
- Collaborate with operations staff to ensure that General Conditions and Requirement items are appropriately captured in the estimate.
- Perform assessment on subcontractor proposals to ascertain if scope is covered.
- Assist in auto-cad drawings and drafting.
- To undertake any other duties as assigned by the supervisor when necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Candidates without the necessary qualifications but with relevant experience will be considered.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the fields of engineering, manufacturing, servicing, and repair of aircraft tooling, GSE’s, and/or similar equipment.
- Sound working knowledge of engineering principles, GD&T, materials, surface & heat treatments, and equipment testing.
- Candidates with experience in a manufacturing environment including machining, steel and aluminium fabrication, welding and sheet metal work will have an advantage.
- Competent in the use of MS Office applications.
- Conversant with the relevant international and aviation standards.
- Equally adept as a team leader, a team player or independent worker.
- Must be able to multi-task communicate effectively (oral, written and videoconferencing).
