WHAT IS THIS POSITION ABOUT?

The incumbent is responsible for development of strategies for annual activation plans, programs and initiatives together with Asia Marketing Team aiming to activate relevant nationalities in markets, gain share and maximize potential, profitability and/or brand equity as per market nationality role.

While coordinating the assigned Consumer Activation team across Asia, the incumbent has the main responsibility for the Consumer Activation management and for recommendation of actions and programs to maximize A&SP objectives. The incumbent will lead the team efforts for programs' planning development and implementation, monitoring results and proposing corrective actions if needed, while keeping the team motivated to aim for higher results.

The role demands regular contact with Consumer & Trade Marketing Team, Asia Regional Sales Directors to align consumer and business needs and shape, improve ways of working to maximize quality, speed & effectiveness of deliveries.

The person is responsible to encourage team members to share knowledge and experience with the objective to increase efficiency long term.


WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Consumer Activation Management

  • Develop consumer activation & communication master plan for Asia markets aligned with brand & sales strategic goals embracing nationality classification.
  • Develop solutions to maximize the opportunity of consumer acquisition increase during new launches (RRP/RMC/ other categories), LEP and/or brand rejuvenation through traditional marketing or digital.
  • Ensure effective activation mechanics with the aim of increasing JTI brands' affinity among consumers.
  • Understand key market nationalities in Asia, know their drivers and preferences in order to develop effective consumer activations.

Impactful communication

  • Develop with the teams relevant, impactful & consumer nationality driven communication aiming to raise brand interest by SOB consumers and reassure franchise about quality & image.
  • Ensure timely implementation of activation and merchandizing plans while achieving given KPIs.
  • Ensure effective and optimal usage of resources while embedding constant improvement mechanisms in daily work of the team.
  • Consistent brand image display in Asia
  • Ensure brand presentation consistency towards consumers (merchandising, new launches, activation) across markets in scope.
  • Investigate new trends, opportunities, new capabilities driven by technology in trade operations (including digital).
  • Coordinate in the team the conversion of brand objectives in communication components and mechanics, development of all Consumer marketing programs in line with strategic brand objectives and in correlation with activities with operators.
  • Lead the Asia Marketing Activation team in identifying, entering into contracts and liaising with services and technology partners involved in the development, implementation and monitoring of communication processes and cycles.

Retail Sales Consultant Management

  • Responsible to ensure clear, consistent Brand Communication through the best in class RSC by:
  • Helping the teams in recruiting best in class Retail Sales Consultants
  • Managing brand ambassador agencies, transferring centrally developed RSC program that ensures motivation, sales and consumer knowledge
  • Ensuring best-in-class training including knowledge materials is available for RSC Development
  • Working with Global Indirect Procurement to continuously review agencies to ensure cost efficient and highest level of service.

Marketing Budget Management

  • Develop and manage assigned marketing budget process to ensure timely, consistent, and integrated delivery of marketing plans. Manage plan requirements in alignment with Global Strategies, including detailed financial planning of brand launches, LEP, communication & advertisement, brand activation, merchandizing and RSCs.
  • Deliver clear and consistent plan during Annual Planning process and provide updates as required.

People management

  • Direct the work of the subordinate team, recruit, motivate them and be responsible for their professional development, ensuring the effective division of responsibilities, guaranteeing the continuity of tasks, supervising the results achieved, ensuring that tasks are carried out in accordance with the potential, while meeting the needs of the company.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • University degree or equivalent.
  • 7+ years in FMCG brand marketing experience incl. consumer/trade promotions management with merchandising would be an advantage.
  • Fluent English (required).
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Office.
  • Consumer Marketing Management, Trade Marketing, Trade Merchandising, Shelf space/ planogram management, Category management, Competitive intelligence, Negotiation skills, Basic financial skills, Consumer Marketing Knowledge, Trade Research, Brand Communication (ATL / BTL), Trade Segmentation, Merchandizing Management, Solid business acumen; Budget management; Complex Project management; Team Leadership.
