Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Marine NavCom Service Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have at least 4 years of practical experience in installing, diagnosing issues, and maintaining various marine navigation and communication systems. These include MARINE RADAR systems, chartplotters, ECDIS, AIS, VDR, VHF radios, MF/HF SSB, autopilots, and maritime IT equipment. Familiarity with IT/networking and VSAT systems is crucial. Possession of a General Operator's Certificate (GOC) is advantageous. Candidates should also have a foundational understanding of marine electrical and electronic systems. The role requires flexibility and willingness to travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and service marine navigation and communication systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and inspections to ensure system performance and safety compliance.
- Resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure continuous system operation.
- Provide technical support and training to crew members on system operation and maintenance.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners for system installations, upgrades, and repairs.
- Stay updated on industry developments, regulations, and technological advancements.
- Maintain detailed documentation of service activities, including installations and troubleshooting.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years' hands-on experience in marine navigation and communication systems.
- Proficiency in installing, configuring, and maintaining MARINE RADAR systems, chartplotters, ECDIS, AIS, VDR, VHF radios, MF/HF SSB, autopilots, maritime IT equipment, and VSAT systems.
- Strong IT/networking knowledge.
- General Operator's Certificate (GOC) recommended.
- Familiarity with marine electrical and electronic systems preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to travel frequently, including sea and remote assignments.
- Commitment to safety standards and regulatory compliance.
