We are seeking a motivated System and Server Support Engineer to join our client’s project team and integrate infrastructure and application systems, promptly resolving technical issues and collaborating on cybersecurity projects. The ideal candidate will have a first experience in system setup and deployment, server support, software engineering, and with extensive knowledge of security products.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain server systems, ensuring their availability, reliability, and performance.
- Install, configure, and manage server hardware and software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues, providing timely and effective support.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
- Ensure server security by implementing and maintaining security measures and protocols.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to design and implement infrastructure improvements.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and changes accurately.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other team members.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies as needed.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in server management and support.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a System or Server Support Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with network protocols, services, and standards.
- Proficiency in server hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Understanding of security practices and tools.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, Bash).
- Familiarity with security products such as Tenable, PAM, EDR, DAM, and Endpoint Protection is a plus.
