Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced part time Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounting and financial reporting for our private equity funds. This role requires a deep understanding of private equity accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Fund Accounting & Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements for private equity funds.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy in fund accounting records.
- Prepare and review capital calls, distributions, and other investor communications.
- Oversee the calculation and reporting of management fees, carried interest, and investor allocations.
- Manage all accounting transactions.
- Prepare financial reporting and perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
- Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity.
Valuation & Performance Measurement:
- Assist in the valuation of portfolio investments and ensure compliance with valuation policies and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze fund performance metrics and prepare relevant reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Compliance & Regulatory Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and compliance reports as required.
- Audit financial transactions and documents.
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups.
- Comply with financial policies and regulations.
Audit & Tax Coordination:
- Assist in the annual audit with external auditors.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
- Work with tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely preparation of fund tax returns.
Operational Support:
- Collaborate with the finance and operations teams to enhance fund accounting processes and systems.
- Provide support for special projects and initiatives as needed.
- Work closely with Fund Administrator on capital calls.
- Process staff expense claims in Zoho.
- Process payments to vendors.
- Process staff payroll.
Forecasting & Budgeting:
- Prepare and manage forecasts and budgets to support strategic planning and decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CFA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in fund accounting, preferably within private equity or asset management.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and private equity accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work.
