About The Role
This is a 9-month contract role.
Responsiblities
1. Review or prepare technical Plant Change Proposals (PCP), both temporary and permanent to a high degree of quality and accuracy. Write basis for design gather input from other disciplines, present to approval panels and manage the change through to implementation and close out.
2. Lead the single barrier 'mini' Hardware Barrier Assessments, produce a report for each using the Current Status Reporting (CSR) formats and track actions to closure.
3. Ability to accept the Responsible or Accountable Technical Authority position for Rotating equipment discipline specific and integrated risks
4. Participate in Facilities Reviews and periodic asset HAZOPs. Ensure that actions assigned to the department are completed within the agreed timeframe.
5. Provide front-line and troubleshooting support on day-to-day operational issues. Ability to perform maintenance task in-house with minimal support from OEM.
6. Lead in Asset Turnaround campaign, and lead the Flawless Start-up team for Rotating Equipment Group.
7. Lead inspection and acceptance testing activities at asset sites, fabrication yards or vendor manufacturing facilities for new, repaired or refurbished equipment, as required or deemed appropriate.
8. Good knowledge of condition and process based monitoring (CPBM).
9. Attend Operational Integrity Improvement Process (ORIP) meetings to identify and analyse the causes of unscheduled deferment of production, and then decide the best actions to take.
10. Lead the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions to determine the physical and latent causes of equipment failure. Ensure that actions assigned to the department are completed within the agreed timeframe.
11. Provide information requested by internal or external auditors and ensure that assigned actions resulting from such audits are completed within the agreed timeframe.
12. Maintain close links with respective discipline skillpool and attend periodic skillpool meetings
13. Provide Engineering support for Production initiatives.
14. Provide operability and feedback on the design of new projects as appropriate
15. Support the process scope for Maintenance Projects, Portfolios Projects or other projects as required
Competencies Required
- Principles of Rotating Equipment and Supporting Systems Design, Standards and Regulations.
- Scope Definition, Design, and Specification of Equipment, Ancillaries, Transmission, and Monitoring Systems
- Equipment Control, Shut down and Safeguarding, Engineering Specifications

Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Seasoned rotating equipment professional with a minimum of 15 years of experience Construction, Commissioning, Start-up in Projects as well as Operate & Maintain in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Familiarity with DPC, Polycarbonate production and managing Phenol related safety and technical risks
- Hands with various types of liquid and solid halding equipment like pumps, compressors, conveyors, agitators, extruders.
- Familiarity with International Codes and Industry Standards for Rotating Equipment
- Be knowledgeable in a variety of work processes and disciplines at operating sites (preferably downstream) such as Reliability, Operations, Engineering, Maintenance.
- Ability to operate in a framework of openness and trust within a multi-stakeholder environment, demonstrating responsiveness, flexibility, and delivery focus.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to integrate across the companies.
