Curriculum Development, Teaching, and Assessment
- Teach and explain new ideas and unfamiliar concepts in a clear and engaging manner so that students can understand.
- Prepare and deliver lessons, set tests, examination papers and exercises.
- Devise, write and produce new materials, including audio and visual resources.
- Design and develop high quality curriculum and course materials within the existing academic framework.
- Monitor student progress through the application of formative and summative assessment strategies.
- Develop and deliver online learning strategies where possible.
- Conduct administration duties pertinent to teaching programmes.
Student/Classroom Management
- Manage and engage students during classroom, where necessary discipline.
- Engage in student development by providing strong learning support and monitoring of students’ academic performances.
- Advise students with respect to academic performance, and pursuit of advanced studies.
- Engage students with attendance/emotional etc problems and where needed engage the different stakeholders including parents.
Academic Roles
- Work together with the rest of the academic team to review programmes and materials to ensure continued relevance and quality of curricula.
- Represent the school in selected academic committee, where necessary.
General
- Represent PSB academy locally and internationally where necessary
- Support in teaching overseas study tour where necessary.
Requirements
- Degree in Business Administration/ Business Management
- At least a pass at GCE ‘O’ level or its equivalent in the language medium of the programme/module.
- CELTA/TESOL certificates will be an added advantage.
- At least 1 – 2 Years of experience
- Experience or knowledge of module and/or programme leadership, development and administration within a higher education environment.
- Evidence of engagement in professional practice and the ability to design, deliver and assess a range of modules in and related to specialist areas of professional practice.
- Enthusiasm in working in an interdisciplinary context.
- Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development.
- Experience in working with digital technology including an interest in emerging technology and techniques and maintaining an active interest in related developments within the sector.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good people skills and ability to handle difficult situations, lead and motivate people.
- Ability to work as part of a wider team involving senior managers.
- Forward and outlooking approach to the profession.
- An understanding of the changing landscape within the education sector nationally and internationally.
- Instructional and pedogogical skills
- Prior international student teaching experience is useful
- Ability to work to goals irrespective of the working hours.
- Willing to travel if required for short teaching stints/marketing events overseas.
